Terms: This is a permanent, part time job, which requires working days, evenings, and weekends.

Salary: will be $9.50 to $10.00 per hour for a 20 hour week.

Credentials required: The applicant should have Hairstylist Trade Certification, Hairstylist Licence.

Work Setting: Hairstyling salon or studio

Hair Cutting Techniques: Scissor cutting, Razor cutting, Long hair trimming, Short hair cutting

Hair Styling Techniques: Blow drying, Braiding, Iron waving/curling, Permanents, Relaxing, Spiking, Roller setting

Hair Colouring Techniques: Bleach, Dyes/tints, Streaking/highlights

Related Skills: Analyze hair and scalp conditions and provide basic treatments, Provide advice on beauty care treatments for scalp and hair

Barbering Specific Skills: Cut and trim hair, Shave and trim beards and mustaches, Provide scalp massages, Wave, straighten and tint hair

Additional Skills: Book appointments, Shampoo customers’ hair, Perform cashiering duties, Perform receptionist duties

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, Repetitive tasks, Manual dexterity, Attention to detail, Hand-eye co-ordination, Combination of sitting, standing, walking, Standing for extended periods
