Terms: This is a temporary, full time job

Salary: will be negotiated and depends on the skills and experience of the applicant.

Experience: at least five years’ experience.

Credentials required: The applicant should have Driver’s Licence (Class 1 or A), Air Brake (Z) Endorsement.

Type of Trucking and Equipment: Straight truck (4,600kg+ or 10,000lbs+ with 3+ axles), Tractor-trailer, Extended length tractor-trailer combination, Flatbed, Dump

Type of Travel: Short-haul, Long-haul, Local, International

Documentation Knowledge: Driver logbook, Bill of lading, Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip), Trans-border documentation, Maintenance and repair reports, Trip reports, Accident or incident reports, Dangerous goods occurrence reports

Communication Equipment Experience: Citizens band (CB) radio, Cellular phone

Weight Handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs)

Specific Skills: Loading and unloading of goods, Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo, Plan travel schedules and routes, Receive and relay information to central dispatcher, Transport hazardous products or dangerous goods, Perform brake adjustments, Monitor vehicle performance and mechanical fitness, Perform preventive maintenance

Additional Skills: Professionalism in customer service, Handle inquiries from customers

Security and Safety: Bondable, Basic security clearance, Criminal record check, Driving record check (abstract), Drug test

Own Tools/Equipment: Steel-toed safety boots
