Terms: This is a permanent, part time job, which requires working days and evenings.

Salary: will be $12.00 per hour for a 12 hour week.

Education: The applicant should have completed high school.

Experience: is an asset.

Credentials required: The applicant should have Child and Youth Care Worker (CCW/CYW) Diploma, Social Service Worker (SSW) Diploma, Social Service Worker - Gerontology Diploma, Community Support Worker (CSW) Diploma, Human Services Diploma, First Aid Certificate.

Work Setting: Community or neighbourhood centre, Private home

Target Groups or Clients: Male, Female, Adolescents, Families, Persons with intellectual disabilities, Persons with physical disabilities, Persons with learning disabilities

Specific Skills: Assess client’s relevant skill strengths and development needs, Resolve conflict situations, Provide personal services support to persons with special needs

Security and Safety: Criminal record check, Driving record check (abstract)

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, Work under pressure, Physically demanding

Transportation/Travel Information: Own transportation, Willing to travel

Work Location Information: Work in employer’s/client’s home, Rural community, Various locations

Ability to Supervise: 1 to 2 people

Essential Skills: Document use, Writing, Working with others, Problem solving, Decision making, Critical thinking

Other Information: Female worker that is confidential for brother and sister Mon-Thurs 3:30-6:30. Big sister for personal care activities eg) hair/nails and then tutoring for male eg)homework/social skills/basketball
