Terms: This is a permanent, full time job, which requires working days. Some overtime will be available.

Salary: will be $15.00 to $24.00 per hour for a 42 hour week.

Education: The applicant should have completed high school.

Experience: at least three years’ experience.

Major Work Area: Fabrication, Assembly, Fitting

Type of Equipment: Brakes and presses, Shears, Cutting torches, Grinders, Drills, Computer numerical control (CNC) machines

Area of Specialization: Platework, Shipbuilding

Welding Techniques: Tack, MIG, TIG

Specific Skills: Lay out reference points and patterns, Assemble and fit plates and sections to form structures, Weld or bolt sections together, Set up and operate heavy-duty metal-working machines

Additional Skills: Read blueprints

Security and Safety: Basic security clearance

Own Tools/Equipment: Steel-toed safety boots

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Physically demanding, Manual dexterity, Hand-eye co-ordination

Work Site Environment: Dangerous, Noisy

Transportation/Travel Information: Own transportation

Work Location Information: Urban area, In shop
