Terms: This is a permanent, full time job

Salary: will be its, Vision Care Benefits per year for a 40 hour week.

Education: The applicant should have completed high school, some college or technical training.

Experience: is an asset.

Credentials required: The applicant should have First Aid Certificate.

Recreational Concentration: Boating, Canoeing, Kayaking, Windsurfing, Acting/Improvisation, Stories, Vocal music, Arts and crafts, Nature interpretation, Nature games and crafts, Orienteering and survival skills, Rock Climbing, Archery, Games

Type of Clients: All ages, Families, Pre-school children, Children, Adolescents, Adults, Seniors, Persons with physical disabilities, Persons with mental health disabilities, Multi-ethnic groups

Work Setting: Camp, Outdoor centre

Activity Focus: Leading/instructing individuals, Leading/instructing groups, Patrolling/supervising activities

Specific Skills: Demonstrate and instruct athletic, fitness or sports activities and techniques, Instruct groups and individuals in arts and crafts, Lead groups and individuals in recreational or leisure programs, Plan and carry out fitness and sports activities, Plan and carry out recreational activities, Enforce safety rules and regulations, Understand principles of group dynamics, Mediate disputes, Schedule activities, Conduct therapeutic recreational or athletic activities

Additional Skills: Provide emergency or first aid assistance, Ensure safety of rescuers and victims at accident scenes, Assist with special events, Prepare reports, Maintain and repair sports equipment, Train and supervise staff, Keep logs and maintain records

Security and Safety: Criminal record check, Driving record check (abstract)

Transportation/Travel Information: Valid driver’s licence, Willing to travel, Travel expenses paid by employer, Public transportation is not available

Work Location Information: Staff accommodation available, Rural community, Remote location

Ability to Supervise: 11-15 people

Work Site Environment: Outdoors, Wet/damp, In/on water, At heights, Noisy
