Terms: This is a temporary, full time job, which requires working days and weekends.

Salary: will be negotiated and depends on the skills and experience of the applicant.

Education: The applicant should have completed high school.

Experience: is an asset.

Credentials required: The applicant should have Driver’s Licence (Class 3 or D), Air Brake (Z) Endorsement, Forklift Operator Certification.

Type of Trucking and Equipment: Straight truck (4,600kg+ or 10,000lbs+ with 3+ axles), Van

Type of Travel: Short-haul, Local

Documentation Knowledge: Driver logbook, Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip)

Communication Equipment Experience: Cellular phone

Weight Handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs)

Specific Skills: Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials, Loading and unloading of goods, Use atlases and other trip planning aids, Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment

Security and Safety: Driving record check (abstract)

Own Tools/Equipment: Steel-toed safety boots

Transportation/Travel Information: Own transportation, Valid driver’s licence

Essential Skills: Reading text, Numeracy, Writing, Oral communication, Working with others, Problem solving, Significant use of memory

Other Information: In addition to driving the trucks for deliveries, there will be various greenhouse duties and maintenance.
