Terms: This is a permanent, part time job, which requires working days, evenings, nights, and weekends. Shift work is involved. Some overtime will be available.

Salary: will be $16.72 to $18.13 per hour for a 20 hour week.

Education: The applicant should have completed high school, some college or technical training, completed college or technical training, some university, completed university.

Experience: is an asset.

Credentials required: The applicant should have Child and Youth Care Worker (CCW/CYW) Diploma, Social Service Worker (SSW) Diploma, Community Support Worker (CSW) Diploma, Human Services Diploma, Non-violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) Certificate, Medication Administration Certificate, Pharmacology Certificate, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certificate, First Aid Certificate.

Work Setting: Group home, Social service agency, Private home

Target Groups or Clients: Persons with intellectual disabilities

Specific Skills: Obtain information and prepare reports or case histories, Assess client’s relevant skill strengths and development needs, Supervise activities of clients living in group homes and half-way houses, Implement behaviour management programs, Provide personal services support to persons with special needs, Liaise with other social services agencies and health care providers involved with clients, Assist in evaluating the effectiveness of treatment programs
