Terms: This is a permanent, full time job, which requires working days and evenings. Some overtime will be available.

Salary: will be $10.25 per hour for a 40 hour week.

Education: The applicant should have some college or technical training.

Experience: at least three years’ experience.

Credentials required: The applicant should have First Aid Certificate, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certificate.

Children’s Ages: Kindergarten age (4 - 5 years), School age (6 - 12 years)

Work Setting: Employer’s home

Specific Skills: Supervise and care for children, Help children with homework, Organize, activities such as games and outings for children, Prepare craft materials and assist children to use them, Instruct children in personal hygiene and social development, Read to children, Prepare and serve nutritious meals, Wash, iron and press clothing and household linens, Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties, Assume full responsibility for household in absence of parents, Maintain a safe and healthy environment in the home, Tend to emotional well-being of children, Discipline children according to the methods requested by the parents

Security and Safety: Basic security clearance, Criminal record check

Transportation/Travel Information: Public transportation is available

Work Location Information: Work in employer’s/client’s home, Room and board provided, Urban area

Essential Skills: Reading text, Numeracy, Writing, Oral communication, Problem solving, Decision making, Job task planning and organizing, Significant use of memory
