Salary: will be negotiated and depends on the skills and experience of the applicant.

Experience: two to three years’ experience.

Credentials required: The applicant should have Driver’s Licence (Class 1 or A), Air Brake (Z) Endorsement, WHMIS Certificate.

Type of Travel: Short-haul, Local, Regional

Documentation Knowledge: Driver logbook, Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip), Trip reports

Communication Equipment Experience: Cellular phone

Weight Handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs)

Specific Skills: Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo, Plan travel schedules and routes, Use atlases and other trip planning aids, Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment, Monitor vehicle performance and mechanical fitness

Security and Safety: Bondable, Basic security clearance, Criminal record check, Driving record check (abstract)

Own Tools/Equipment: Steel-toed safety boots, Hard hat

Transportation/Travel Information: Valid driver’s licence

Essential Skills: Reading text, Document use, Writing, Oral communication, Problem solving, Decision making, Critical thinking
