Terms: This is a temporary, full time job, which requires working days.

Salary: will be $25.09 per hour for a 40 hour week.
Also: group insurance benefits.

Education: The applicant should have completed college or technical training.

Experience: at least three years’ experience.

Credentials required: The applicant should have Heavy-Duty Equipment Technician Red Seal Endorsement, WHMIS Certificate, Automotive Service Licence (310S), Truck and Coach Service Licence (310T).

Major Work Area: Repair, Overhaul, Maintenance, Service

Type of Equipment Repair: Heavy trucks, Buses, Heavy construction equipment, Diesel or diesel-electric mining machinery and equipment, Cranes, Bulldozers, Forklifts, Excavators

Diesel Engine Repair Specialization: Fuel injection systems, Exhaust systems, Cooling systems, Air conditioning systems, Lubrication systems, Engine control systems, Major internal engine repairs or overhaul, Installation and alignment of engines and machinery

Mechanical Repair Specialization: Mechanical transmissions, Drive trains and final drives, Hydraulic transmissions, Power take-offs, Tracked vehicle suspensions and steering, Vehicle brake systems, Wheel-mounted vehicle suspension and steering, Off-road vehicle tires and wheels

Powered Equipment Repair Specialization: Cable-operated working attachments, Hydraulic-operated working attachments, Winche, Compressors, Pumps, Electric generators

Weight Handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs)

Specific Skills: Troubleshoot and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions, Determine extent of repair required, Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, Test repaired equipment for proper performance, Clean, lubricate and perform other maintenance work, Service attachments and working tools

Additional Skills: Keep maintenance reports and documentation

Own Tools/Equipment: Tools, Steel-toed safety boots, Safety glasses/goggles

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Physically demanding, Attention to detail

Work Site Environment: Outdoors

Transportation/Travel Information: Own transportation
