Terms: This is a permanent, full time job, which requires working days and weekends.

Salary: will be negotiated and depends on the skills and experience of the applicant.

Education: The applicant should have completed high school, some college or technical training.

Experience: is an asset.

Credentials required: The applicant should have Registered animal technician.

Work Setting: Veterinary clinic

Area of Specialization: Small animals, Large animals

Specific Skills: Handle, restrain and care for animals undergoing treatment and surgery, Assist veterinarian before, during and after surgery, Prepare and administer medications and vaccines under direction of veterinarian, Administer treatments as prescribed by veterinarian, Produce diagnostic radiographs, collect samples and perform other laboratory tests

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Attention to detail, Hand-eye co-ordination, Fast-paced environment, Standing for extended periods, Combination of sitting, standing, walking, Repetitive tasks, Work under pressure

Transportation/Travel Information: Valid driver’s licence

Essential Skills: Reading text, Document use, Numeracy, Writing, Oral communication, Working with others, Problem solving, Critical thinking, Job task planning and organizing, Significant use of memory, Finding information, Computer use, Continuous learning

Other Information: We are looking for a service orientated veterinary tech to join our rural practice. We focus on patient care and customer experience. Would prefer someone with experience and a deep love of animals.
