Terms: This is a permanent, full time job

Salary: will be per for a 70 hour week.

Credentials required: The applicant should have Driver’s Licence (Class 1 or A), Air Brake (Z) Endorsement, Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) Certificate.

Type of Travel: Long-haul, Regional, National, International

Documentation Knowledge: Driver logbook, Bill of lading, Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip), Trans-border documentation, Accident or incident reports, Dangerous goods occurrence reports

Weight Handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs)

Specific Skills: Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials, Loading and unloading of goods, Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo, Plan travel schedules and routes, Use atlases and other trip planning aids, Receive and relay information to central dispatcher, Transport hazardous products or dangerous goods, Drive lighter, special purpose trucks, Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment, Monitor vehicle performance and mechanical fitness, Perform emergency roadside repairs

Additional Skills: Mountain driving expertise, Professionalism in customer service, Handle inquiries from customers, Coach colleagues on new methods or work techniques

Security and Safety: Basic security clearance, Criminal record check, Driving record check (abstract), Drug test

Own Tools/Equipment: Tools, Steel-toed safety boots, Hard hat

Transportation/Travel Information: Willing to travel cross-border, Willing to travel overnight, Valid driver’s licence, Public transportation is not available
