Work Setting: Health care institution, Community organization Area of Medical Specialization: Nursing, Nutrition and metabolism Type of Work Experience: Professional health care education, Public and community health, Health promotion Area of Functional Expertise: Professional or technical accreditation, Program administration or operations management, Public education or information programming, Public relations or communications Program Experience: Disease control, Fitness, Nutrition, Personal life management Research Experience: Survey Specific Skills: Compile and analyze statistical information provided by private and public health care institutions and organizations, Produce reports, Organize conferences and meetings, Co-ordinate multidisciplinary projects, Produce newsletters, magazines and other documents, Deliver presentations at conferences, workshops or symposia, Act as liaison within organization between staff and management around wellness issues, Design and implement health and wellness projects or programs, Conduct evaluations and assessments of health projects and programs, Coordinate workshops, Develop people resources and networks for health information and other wellness issues Additional Skills: Perform administrative tasks, Use computer applications Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Work under pressure, Tight deadlines, Fast-paced environment Transportation/Travel Information: Own transportation, Willing to travel Work Location Information: Urban area Essential Skills: Reading text, Document use, Numeracy, Writing, Oral communication, Working with others, Problem solving, Decision making, Critical thinking, Job task planning and organizing, Significant use of memory, Finding information, Computer use, Continuous learning Other Information: Degree in Nursing/Public Health or related health care education/equivalency and a certified Diabetes Educator.
