Experience: at least three years’ experience.

Type of Paints or Coatings: Drying oils paint, Resinous, solvent drying paints, Catalyzed or polymerized paints, Bituminous coatings, Fire retardant coatings, Emulsions, Gildings

Type of Materials or Products: General metal products, Aircraft or motor vehicles, Major appliances, Small consumer goods

Surface Preparation Methods: Sandblasting

Application Methods: Hand-held spray guns

Work Setting / Industry Experience: Component manufacturing industry

Specific Skills: Select appropriate paint or mix paints, Tend or operate equipment to spray or coat, Paint small items and apply touch-ups using paint brushes

Additional Skills: Read and interpret blueprints/sketches/specifications, Work in uncomfortable environments

Essential Skills: Reading text, Document use, Numeracy, Writing, Oral communication, Working with others, Problem solving, Decision making, Critical thinking, Job task planning and organizing, Significant use of memory, Finding information, Continuous learning
