Credentials required: The applicant should have Sheet Metal Worker Trade Certification, WHMIS, Driver’s License, CADD Course.

Areas of Specialization: Heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, Dust and fume collection systems, Air volume (VAC), Custom sheet metal items

Welding Techniques: Gas metal ARC (GMAW) (MIG)

Other Material Joining Techniques / Equipment: Lock formers, seamers, groovers, High speed mechanically applied tech screws, Soldering equipment, Pin spotting equipment

Specific Skills: Determine layout of systems, Measure and mark sheet metal according to template, Inspect products to ensure quality and conformity to specification

Additional Skills: Estimate labour and material costs, Schedule work, Instruct apprentices, Supervise other workers

Work Site Environment: Noisy

Transportation/Travel Information: Valid driver’s licence

Essential Skills: Reading text, Numeracy, Oral communication, Working with others, Decision making, Job task planning and organizing, Computer use
