Terms: This is a permanent, full time job, which requires working days.

Salary: will be negotiated and depends on the skills and experience of the applicant.

Education: The applicant should have completed college or technical training.

Experience: at least five years’ experience.

Credentials required: The applicant should have Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic Trade Certification.

Major Work Area: Service

Type of Equipment Repair: Heavy construction equipment, Diesel or diesel-electric mining machinery and equipment

Diesel Engine Repair Specialization: Major internal engine repairs or overhaul, Installation and alignment of engines and machinery

Mechanical Repair Specialization: Mechanical transmissions, Drive trains and final drives, Hydraulic transmissions, Power take-offs, Tracked vehicle suspensions and steering, Vehicle brake systems, Wheel-mounted vehicle suspension and steering, Off-road vehicle tires and wheels, Differentials

Powered Equipment Repair Specialization: Cable-operated working attachments, Hydraulic-operated working attachments, Winche, Compressors, Pumps, Electric generators

Weight Handling: Up to 45 kg (100 lbs)

Specific Skills: Troubleshoot and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions, Determine extent of repair required, Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, Test repaired equipment for proper performance, Clean, lubricate and perform other maintenance work, Service attachments and working tools, Verify and repair emission control systems

Additional Skills: Instruct apprentices, Order parts and maintain inventory, Keep maintenance reports and documentation

Security and Safety: Criminal record check, Driving record check (abstract), Medical exam, Driver’s validity license check

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Physically demanding, Attention to detail

Transportation/Travel Information: Vehicle supplied by employer, Willing to travel, Willing to travel cross-border, Willing to travel internationally, Valid driver’s licence, Travel expenses paid by employer

Work Location Information: On-site customer service
