Terms: This is a permanent, full time job

Salary: will be $20.95 to $26.95 per hour for a 44 hour week.

Education: The applicant should have completed college or technical training.

Experience: at least five years’ experience.

Credentials required: The applicant should have Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic Trade Certification, Heavy-Duty Equipment Technician Red Seal Endorsement, WHMIS Certificate.

Type of Equipment Repair: Heavy trucks, Heavy construction equipment, Forestry and logging equipment, Diesel or diesel-electric mining machinery and equipment, Bulldozers, Graders, Dump trucks, Forklifts, Excavators

Diesel Engine Repair Specialization: Fuel injection systems, Exhaust systems, Cooling systems, Lubrication systems, Installation and alignment of engines and machinery

Mechanical Repair Specialization: Mechanical transmissions, Drive trains and final drives, Hydraulic transmissions, Tracked vehicle suspensions and steering, Off-road vehicle tires and wheels, Differentials

Weight Handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs)

Specific Skills: Troubleshoot and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions, Determine extent of repair required, Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, Test repaired equipment for proper performance, Clean, lubricate and perform other maintenance work, Service attachments and working tools

Additional Skills: Instruct apprentices, Order parts and maintain inventory, Keep maintenance reports and documentation, Welding experience

Own Tools/Equipment: Tools, Steel-toed safety boots

Transportation/Travel Information: Willing to travel regularly, Willing to travel cross-border, Valid driver’s licence
