Terms: This is a permanent, full time job, which requires working evenings. Shift work is involved. Some overtime will be available.

Salary: will be $25.00 to $29.00 per hour for a 40 hour week.
Also: medical, dental, vision, disability, group insurance, life insurance benefits.

Education: The applicant should have completed high school, some college or technical training, some university.

Experience: at least five years’ experience.

Credentials required: The applicant should have Truck and Transport Mechanic Trade Certification, Truck-Trailer Repairer Trade Certification, Truck and Transport Mechanic Red Seal Endorsement, Truck-Trailer Repairer Red Seal Endorsement.

Type of Experience: Trucks

Area of Specialization: Engine repair, Electrical and electronic systems, Diesel engines, Diagnostics, Alignment, steering and suspension, Brake systems, Hydraulic systems, AC, cooling and heating systems, Engine repair and overhaul, Welding

Mechanical Repairer Specific Skills: Inspect and test mechanical units, Diagnose faults and malfunctions, Repair and replace mechanical units, Test and adjust units to specifications

Truck Mechanic Specific Skills: Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of commercial transport truck systems, Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of truck-trailer systems, Test and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer’s specifications, Perform scheduled maintenance service

Additional Skills: Review work orders and discuss work with supervisor, Complete reports to record problems and work performed, Estimate parts and labour costs, Customer service skills

Own Tools/Equipment: Steel-toed safety boots

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, Hand-eye co-ordination
