Terms: This is a permanent, full time job, which requires working evenings and weekends. Shift work is involved.

Salary: will be $28.06 per hour for a 40 hour week.
Also: medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, pension benefits.

Education: The applicant should have completed high school, completed college or technical training.

Experience: at least five years’ experience.

Credentials required: The applicant should have Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) Trade Certification, Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) Red Seal Endorsement.

Major Work Area: Maintenance, Repair

Area of Specialization: Installing machinery and equipment, Troubleshooting, Bearing, seals and packing, Vibration analysis, Levelling and aligning, Laser aligning, Optical alignment

Type of Industry/Work Setting Experience: Manufacturing, Steel industry

Welding Techniques: Oxy-acetylene welding (OAW), Flux core arc welding (FCAW), Gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) (TIG), Gas metal arc welding (GMAW) (MIG), Shielded metal arc welding (SMAW)

Weight Handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs)

Specific Skills: Detect and troubleshoot irregularities and malfunctions, Repair or replace defective machinery parts, Perform routine maintenance work on machinery

Additional Skills: Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and specifications

Own Tools/Equipment: Tools

Work Site Environment: Noisy

Essential Skills: Reading text, Numeracy, Writing, Oral communication, Working with others, Problem solving
