Pest control technician

Terms: This is a permanent, full time job, which requires working days, evenings, and weekends. Shift work is involved.

Salary: will be $17.48 per hour for a 40 hour week.
Also: medical, dental, vision, disability, group insurance, life insurance, RRSP benefits.

Education: The applicant should have completed college or technical training.

Experience: at least three years’ experience.

Credentials required: The applicant should have Provincial Pesticide Applicator Licence.

Equipment Experience: Mechanical sprayers, Electrical sprayers

Specific Skills: Inspect buildings and outside areas to detect signs of infestation, Determine type of treatment required, Prepare and spray chemical mixture on infested areas, Fumigate households, Clean out areas that harbour pests, Advise clients on how to prevent pest infestation

Additional Skills: Provide estimate of costs

Security and Safety: Criminal record check

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Physically demanding, Attention to detail, Hand-eye co-ordination, Combination of sitting, standing, walking, Bending, crouching, kneeling

Transportation/Travel Information: Valid driver’s licence

Work Location Information: Urban area, On-site customer service
