Terms: This is a permanent, full time job, which requires working nights. Shift work is involved.

Education: The applicant should have completed college or technical training.

Experience: two to three years’ experience.

Credentials required: The applicant should have Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) Trade Certification, First Aid Certificate, CPR Certificate, WHMIS Certificate.

Major Work Area: Machinery installation, New construction, Maintenance, Service, Repair, Overhaul

Area of Specialization: Adjusting machinery and equipment, Troubleshooting, Programmable logic controllers (PLCs)

Type of Industry/Work Setting Experience: Manufacturing

Type of Machinery or Equipment: Conveyors, Pumps and compressors, Grinders, Heat exchangers, Electrical and electronic controls, Lathes and other machining tools, Power tools, Fans and blowers, Hydraulic systems, Pneumatic systems

Welding Techniques: Oxy-acetylene welding (OAW)

Weight Handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs)

Additional Skills: Coach and instruct apprentices, Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and specifications, Supervise other workers

Own Tools/Equipment: Tools, Steel-toed safety boots

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Handling heavy loads, Physically demanding

Work Site Environment: At heights, Noisy

Transportation/Travel Information: Own transportation, Valid driver’s licence
