Education: The applicant should have some high school, completed high school, some college or technical training.

Credentials required: The applicant should have 1st Period Apprentice.

Areas of Specialization: Dust and fume collection systems, Stainless steel equipment, Sheeting and cladding, Custom sheet metal items, Decorative metal sheets

Welding Techniques: Gas tungsten ARC (GTWA) (TIG), Gas metal ARC (GMAW) (MIG), Resistance or spot welding

Other Material Joining Techniques / Equipment: Rivets, screws, bolts, Pop rivets, High-tech adhesives and glues

Specific Skills: Measure and mark sheet metal according to template, Grind and buff seams, joints and rough surfaces, Operate plasma cutters, Set up power equipment, Cut materials using power tools or by hand

Security and Safety: Driver’s validity license check

Own Tools/Equipment: Steel-toed safety boots, Safety glasses/goggles, Gloves, Ear plugs

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, Physically demanding, Manual dexterity, Attention to detail, Hand-eye co-ordination, Standing for extended periods, Bending, crouching, kneeling

Transportation/Travel Information: Valid driver’s licence
