Education: The applicant should have completed high school.

Experience: two to three years’ experience.

Credentials required: The applicant should have Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic Trade Certification.

Major Work Area: Maintenance

Type of Equipment Repair: Heavy construction equipment, Diesel or diesel-electric mining machinery and equipment

Diesel Engine Repair Specialization: Installation and alignment of engines and machinery

Mechanical Repair Specialization: Mechanical transmissions, Drive trains and final drives, Differentials

Weight Handling: Up to 45 kg (100 lbs)

Own Tools/Equipment: Tools, Steel-toed safety boots

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Physically demanding, Attention to detail

Transportation/Travel Information: Own transportation

Essential Skills: Reading text, Document use, Numeracy, Oral communication, Working with others, Problem solving, Critical thinking, Significant use of memory, Continuous learning

Other Information: Assembly of new personnel carriers (trucks) and utility products for Mining Industry. Must be able to read blueprints / drawings and work independantly. Electrical & mechanical experience required.
