Terms: This is a permanent, part time job Shift work is involved.

Salary: will be $21.94 to $25.09 Y per year for a 24 hour week.

Education: The applicant should have completed college or technical training.

Experience: is an asset.

Credentials required: The applicant should have Licensure by the appropriate province or territory of work, Eligible for licensure as a practical nurse by the province/territory of work, Completion of the Canadian Practical Nurse Registration Examination.

Work Setting: Home for the aged

Area of Specialization: Geriatrics, Medical unit, General duty

Registered Nursing Assistant Specific Skills: Take patients’ blood pressure, temperature and pulse, Distribute medication to patients, Change patients’ dressings, Monitor established respiratory therapy and intravenous therapy, Provide safety and health education to individuals and their families, Bathe and dress patients, Assist registered nurses with various medical procedures

Additional Skills: Monitor patients’ progress and report any changes

Security and Safety: Criminal record check, Immunization records, Tuberculosis test

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Work under pressure, Physically demanding, Attention to detail, Ability to distinguish between colours, Sound discrimination, Combination of sitting, standing, walking, Walking

Transportation/Travel Information: Own transportation
