Terms: This is a seasonal, full time job, which requires working days, nights, and weekends. Shift work is involved.

Salary: will be $16.00 per hour for a 40 hour week.

Experience: at least three years’ experience.

Credentials required: The applicant should have Driver’s Licence (Class 1 or A), Air Brake (Z) Endorsement, Commercial Vehicle Operator’s Registration (CVOR) Certificate.

Type of Trucking and Equipment: Tractor-trailer

Type of Travel: Short-haul

Documentation Knowledge: Driver logbook, Bill of lading, Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip), Maintenance and repair reports, Trip reports, Accident or incident reports

Communication Equipment Experience: Citizens band (CB) radio, Cellular phone, Satellite tracking (GPS) equipment

Weight Handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs)

Specific Skills: Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials, Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo, Monitor vehicle performance and mechanical fitness

Security and Safety: Driving record check (abstract)

Own Tools/Equipment: Steel-toed safety boots, Hard hat

Transportation/Travel Information: Willing to travel for extended periods, Willing to travel overnight, Valid driver’s licence

Essential Skills: Document use, Oral communication, Working with others, Problem solving
