Terms: This is a permanent, full time job, which requires working days, evenings, nights, and weekends.

Salary: will be negotiated and depends on the skills and experience of the applicant.

Experience: at least a full year’s experience.

Credentials required: The applicant should have Driver’s Licence (Class 1 or A), Air Brake (Z) Endorsement, Commercial Vehicle Operator’s Registration (CVOR) Certificate, Air Brake Adjustment Certificate.

Type of Trucking and Equipment: Tractor-trailer, Tractor-trailer B train, Flatbed

Type of Travel: Long-haul, National, International

Documentation Knowledge: Driver logbook, Bill of lading, Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip), Trans-border documentation, Maintenance and repair reports, Trip reports, Accident or incident reports, Dangerous goods occurrence reports

Communication Equipment Experience: Cellular phone

Weight Handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs)

Specific Skills: Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials, Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo, Use atlases and other trip planning aids, Receive and relay information to central dispatcher

Additional Skills: Mountain driving expertise, Professionalism in customer service

Security and Safety: Driving record check (abstract), Drug test

Own Tools/Equipment: Tools, Steel-toed safety boots, Hard hat

Transportation/Travel Information: Willing to travel cross-border, Willing to travel for extended periods, Willing to travel overnight, Valid driver’s licence

Essential Skills: Document use, Writing, Oral communication, Problem solving
