Credentials required: The applicant should have Membership in the Life Office Management Association (LOMA). Work Setting: Insurance company, Independent insurance adjusters company Type of Insurance Experience: Medical, Dental, Disability Insurance Adjuster Specific Skills: Investigate circumstances surrounding insurance claims, Determine validity of claims, Examine records and reports, Prepare adjustment reports Insurance Claims Examiner Specific Skills: Review, examine, calculate and authorize insurance claims, Examine adjusters’ reports, insurance claims and precedents to determine extent of insurance coverage, Ensure claims are valid, Ensure settlements are made according to company practices and procedures, Consult lawyers, doctors or other individuals to discuss insurance claims, Approve insurance claims Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, Attention to detail Transportation/Travel Information: Public transportation is available Essential Skills: Oral communication, Working with others, Problem solving, Decision making, Critical thinking, Finding information, Computer use Other Information: Must have Disability claims experience.
