Terms: This is a temporary, full time job, which requires working days.

Salary: will be $14.45 per hour for a 40 hour week.

Education: The applicant should have completed college or technical training.

Credentials required: The applicant should have Early Childhood Education Diploma or Degree, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certificate, First Aid Certificate.

Work Setting: Child care centre

Children’s Ages: Newborn, 3-11 months, 1 year, 2 years, 3 years, 4 years, 5 years

Experience With Children Who Have Special Needs: Children with a mental health disability, Children with behavioural issues

Early Childhood Education Skills: Plan and develop child care and nursery school programs, Provide supervision and guidance of daily activities, field trips and special activities, Provide opportunity for creative expression through the mediums of art, dramatic play and music, Assess the developmental level of children, Knowledge of Day Nurseries Act, Knowledge of licensing regulations, Establish guidelines for behaviour

Additional Skills: Assist in maintaining records of children, Assist in housekeeping duties, Interpersonal skills, Light cleaning duties

Security and Safety: Criminal record check, Medical exam, Immunization records, Tuberculosis test

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilites: Repetitive tasks, Attention to detail, Combination of sitting, standing, walking, Bending, crouching, kneeling

Work Site Environment: Non-smoking, Air conditioned
