Terms: This is a permanent, part time job, which requires working days.

Salary: will be $10.25 to $15.50 per hour for a 22 hour week.

Education: The applicant should have completed high school, some college or technical training, completed college or technical training, some university, completed university.

Experience: at least a full year’s experience.

Credentials required: The applicant should have Early Childhood Education Diploma or Degree, Early Childhood Education Assistant Certificate, Quality Education and Child Care (QECC) Certification, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certificate, First Aid Certificate.

Work Setting: Child care centre, Before and after school programs

Children’s Ages: Newborn, 3-11 months, 1 year, 2 years, 3 years, 4 years, 5 years

Experience With Children Who Have Special Needs: Children with a physical disability, Children with behavioural issues

Early Childhood Education Skills: Provide supervision and guidance of daily activities, field trips and special activities, Provide opportunity for creative expression through the mediums of art, dramatic play and music

Early Childhood Educator Assistant Skills: Prepare craft materials and assist children to use them, Prepare and serve snacks

Security and Safety: Criminal record check, Medical exam, Immunization records

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilites: Combination of sitting, standing, walking, Bending, crouching, kneeling

Work Site Environment: Non-smoking

Essential Skills: Working with others, Problem solving, Decision making, Critical thinking, Job task planning and organizing

Other Information: If you have an ECE diploma or equivalent, position is contingent upon you having provided proof of membership, or proof of application for membership, in the College of Early Childhood Educators.
