Major Work Area: Installation, Testing, Maintenance, Repair, Service

Area of Specialization: Switch network installation and repair

Specific Skills: Repair or replace switching systems and associated equipment, Determine the nature, cause and location of failures

Additional Skills: Complete and maintain test and service reports, Dispatch appropriate service personnel, Instruct apprentices

Security and Safety: Criminal record check, Driver’s validity license check

Own Tools/Equipment: Tools, Safety equipment/gear, Steel-toed safety boots

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, Tight deadlines, Attention to detail, Ability to distinguish between colours, Combination of sitting, standing, walking, Bending, crouching, kneeling

Work Site Environment: Outdoors, On-site customer service
