Experience: at least five years’ experience.

Type of Equipment: Brakes and presses, Shears, Cutting torches, Grinders, Drills, Computer numerical control (CNC) machines

Area of Specialization: Structural metal or steel

Specific Skills: Lay out reference points and patterns, Assemble and fit plates and sections to form structures, Weld or bolt sections together, Set up and operate heavy-duty metal-working machines, Construct patterns and templates

Additional Skills: Read blueprints

Own Tools/Equipment: Steel-toed safety boots

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Physically demanding, Manual dexterity, Hand-eye co-ordination, Combination of sitting, standing, walking

Transportation/Travel Information: Valid driver’s licence, Own transportation

Work Location Information: In shop
