Terms: This is a permanent, full time job, which requires working days.

Salary: will be $18.00 to $25.00 per hour for a 60 hour week.

Education: The applicant should have completed high school.

Experience: at least three years’ experience.

Credentials required: The applicant should have Driver’s Licence (Class 1 or A), Air Brake (Z) Endorsement.

Type of Trucking and Equipment: Straight truck (4,600kg+ or 10,000lbs+ with 3+ axles), Tractor-trailer, Dump

Type of Travel: Short-haul, Local

Documentation Knowledge: Driver logbook, Bill of lading, Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip), Maintenance and repair reports, Trip reports, Accident or incident reports

Communication Equipment Experience: Cellular phone, Satellite tracking (GPS) equipment

Weight Handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs)

Specific Skills: Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials, Loading and unloading of goods, Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo, Plan travel schedules and routes, Use atlases and other trip planning aids, Drive lighter, special purpose trucks, Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment, Monitor vehicle performance and mechanical fitness, Perform preventive maintenance

Additional Skills: Professionalism in customer service, Handle inquiries from customers

Security and Safety: Criminal record check, Driving record check (abstract)

Own Tools/Equipment: Steel-toed safety boots, Hard hat

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Physically demanding
