Credentials required: The applicant should have Power Engineering Trade Certification, Stationary Engineering Trade Certification, Stationary Engineer ’A’ - Refrigeration Plant Operator, Stationary Engineer ’B’ - Refrigeration Plant Operator, Stationary Engineer 2nd Class.

Work Setting: Utilities company, Food processing industry, Electric power generation plants, Plastics processing industry

Type of Equipment: Stationary engines, Low pressure boilers, High pressure boilers, Pumps, Diesel generators, Electric generators, Compressors, Motors, Switches, Valves, Gauges, Meters, Electronic controls, Programmable logic controllers (PLC), Distributed control systems (DCS)

Specific Skills: Operate automated or computerized control systems, Monitor and inspect plant equipment, Measure temperature, fuel flow and pressure, Analyze and record instrument readings and equipment malfunction, Troubleshoot, perform corrective action or minor repairs as required, Perform routine equipment maintenance, Clean and lubricate machinery and components, Maintain daily log of operation, maintenance and safety activities, Write plant or building operation reports, Assist in the development of operation, maintenance and safety procedures, Use computerized Building Automation System, Use computerized Preventive Maintenance System
