Terms: This is a permanent, full time job Some overtime will be available.

Salary: will be $26.00 per hour for a 40 hour week.

Experience: at least five years’ experience.

Credentials required: The applicant should have Cement Finisher Trade Certification, Driver’s License.

Major Work Area: Construction, Resurface, Repair and patch

Type of Establishment/Work Setting Experience: Commercial, Residential, Sewers and water mains, Sidewalks and curbs

Area of Specialization: Waterproofing, Decorative finishing, Cutting and coring concrete, Floor pouring, Curing concrete, Floor levelling, Floor finishing, Slab installation

Materials Used: Hardners and epoxies, Colours and sealers, Mastic flooring, Light weight concrete, Reinforcing membrane and protective covering

Specific Skills: Check formwork, granular base and steel reinforcement material, Direct placement of concrete into forms or surfaces, Operate power vibrators to compact concrete, Level top surface concrete according to grade and depth specification, Finish concrete surfaces using hand and power tools, Install anchor bolts, steel plates, door sills and other fixtures, Apply hardening and sealing components to cure surfaces, Waterproof, damp proof and restore surfaces

Additional Skills: Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and specifications, Work in confined locations, Instruct apprentices, Supervise other workers

Own Tools/Equipment: Steel-toed safety boots, Hard hat, Safety glasses/goggles

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Physically demanding, Handling heavy loads, Bending, crouching, kneeling

Work Site Environment: Dusty

Transportation/Travel Information: Valid driver’s licence
