Credentials required: The applicant should have Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic Trade Certification, Ozone Depletion Prevention (ODP) Certificate, WHMIS, Gas Fitter Certificate - Level 1 or A.

Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Systems: Rooftop (self-contained), Centrifugal cooling, Heat pump, Filtration, Air motioning and circulation, Built up (split system), Humidification and de-humidification systems, Ventilation, Cooling tower

Specific Skills: Measure and lay out reference points for installation, Assemble and install refrigeration or air conditioning components, Commission systems and test for leaks using testing devices, Perform routine maintenance and servicing, Interpret gas codes, Install, troubleshoot, repair and overhaul entire heating, ventilation, air handling, refrigeration and air conditioning systems, Handle, recover and store refrigerants, Read blueprints

Additional Skills: Customer service oriented

Security and Safety: Basic security clearance, Criminal record check, Driver’s validity license check

Own Tools/Equipment: Tools, Steel-toed safety boots

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Physically demanding, Handling heavy loads, Bending, crouching, kneeling

Transportation/Travel Information: Valid driver’s licence
