Terms: This is a permanent, full time job Shift work is involved.

Salary: will be negotiated and depends on the skills and experience of the applicant.

Education: The applicant should have completed high school, some college or technical training, completed college or technical training.

Experience: at least three years’ experience.

Credentials required: The applicant should have Carpenter Trade Certification, WHMIS Certificate.

Major Work Area: Construction, Renovation

Type of Establishment/Work Setting Experience: Commercial, Institutional, Industrial

Area of Specialization: General carpentry, Rough carpentry, Finish carpentry, Framing, Form work

Specific Skills: Determine specifications and calculate requirements, Prepare layouts, Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join mouldings, wood materials, drywall and plastics materials, Build foundations, Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware, Build floor beams and subflooring, Build walls and install partitions, Install suspended ceilings, Build and install framing for dropped ceilings, counters, indirect lighting, display cases, etc., Install fire doors, Install shoring, Install drywall, Build and install platforms, scaffolding, ramps and ladders, Operate power tools

Additional Skills: Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and specifications, Estimate labour and material costs

Own Tools/Equipment: Steel-toed safety boots

Work Site Environment: At heights, Noisy, Dusty

Transportation/Travel Information: Own transportation, Willing to travel, Valid driver’s licence

Work Location Information: Various locations
