Terms: This is a permanent, full time job, which requires working days, evenings, and weekends.

Salary: will be $18.00 to $22.00 per hour for a 40 hour week.

Experience: two to three years’ experience.

Credentials required: The applicant should have Driver’s Licence (Class 3 or D), Air Brake (Z) Endorsement, Commercial Vehicle Operator’s Registration (CVOR) Certificate.

Type of Trucking and Equipment: Straight truck (4,600kg+ or 10,000lbs+ with 3+ axles), Concrete mixing

Type of Travel: Local

Documentation Knowledge: Driver logbook, Bill of lading, Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip)

Communication Equipment Experience: Cellular phone

Weight Handling: Up to 13.5 kg (30 lbs)

Specific Skills: Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials, Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo, Receive and relay information to central dispatcher, Pay and receive payments for goods, Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment

Additional Skills: Professionalism in customer service, Handle inquiries from customers, Owner-operator business skills

Security and Safety: Bondable, Criminal record check, Driving record check (abstract), Drug test

Own Tools/Equipment: Steel-toed safety boots, Hard hat

Transportation/Travel Information: Own transportation, Valid driver’s licence, Public transportation is not available
