Credentials required: The applicant should have Provincial Gas Fitter Licence.

Area of Specialization: Connections of furnaces, boilers, space heaters and forced air heaters

Specific Skills: Determine layout of systems, Measure and mark reference points for installation, Install and maintain meters and regulators, Maintain and service heating units and components, Repair and service gas appliances, Assist in gas fires and explosion investigations, Educate clients about safety and maintenance of gas units, Install gas appliances, Start-up and adjust new or repaired equipment, Test and replace defective equipment or components

Security and Safety: Bondable, Driver’s validity license check

Own Tools/Equipment: Tools, Steel-toed safety boots

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, Tight deadlines, Handling heavy loads, Physically demanding, Attention to detail, Standing for extended periods, Bending, crouching, kneeling

Work Site Environment: Dangerous, Confined spaces, Noisy

Transportation/Travel Information: Valid driver’s licence, Own transportation
