Credentials required: The applicant should have Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) Trade Certification, Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) Red Seal Endorsement, Canadian Welding Bureau Certification, Electrician Trade Certification, Welder Trade Certification, Forklift Operator Certification. Major Work Area: Maintenance, Service, Repair, Overhaul Area of Specialization: Assembling machinery and equipment, Installing machinery and equipment, Adjusting machinery and equipment, Fabricating machine parts, Start-up and testing, Renovating and restoring, Troubleshooting, Bearing, seals and packing, Specialty welding, Stainless steel welding, Levelling and aligning Type of Industry/Work Setting Experience: Recycling industry Type of Machinery or Equipment: Conveyors, Pumps and compressors, Grinders, Welding equipment, Heat exchangers, Automated and robotics systems, Electrical and electronic controls, Power tools, Fans and blowers, Hydraulic systems, Pneumatic systems, High speed packaging equipment Welding Techniques: Oxy-acetylene welding (OAW), Gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) (TIG), Gas metal arc welding (GMAW) (MIG), Shielded metal arc welding (SMAW) Weight Handling: Up to 45 kg (100 lbs) Specific Skills: Detect and troubleshoot irregularities and malfunctions, Construct foundations for machinery, Install machinery and mechanical equipment, Repair or replace defective machinery parts, Fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance or set-up, Perform routine maintenance work on machinery, Assemble machinery prior to installation, Operate machining tools to fabricate parts Additional Skills: Coach and instruct apprentices, Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and specifications, Estimate labour and material costs, Supervise other workers Security and Safety: Basic security clearance Own Tools/Equipment: Steel-toed safety boots, Hard hat, Safety glasses/goggles Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Handling heavy loads, Physically demanding Work Site Environment: At heights, Noisy, Odours Transportation/Travel Information: Own transportation Essential Skills: Reading text, Document use, Numeracy, Writing, Oral communication, Working with others, Problem solving, Decision making, Critical thinking, Job task planning and organizing, Significant use of memory, Finding information, Computer use, Continuous learning Other Information: Punctual, dependable and able to work all shifts.
