Terms: This is a permanent, full time job, which requires working days, evenings, nights, and weekends.

Credentials required: The applicant should have Driver’s Licence (Class 1 or A), Air Brake (Z) Endorsement.

Documentation Knowledge: Driver logbook, Bill of lading, Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip), Maintenance and repair reports, Trip reports, Accident or incident reports

Communication Equipment Experience: Citizens band (CB) radio, Cellular phone

Weight Handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs)

Specific Skills: Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials, Loading and unloading of goods, Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo, Receive and relay information to central dispatcher, Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment, Monitor vehicle performance and mechanical fitness, Perform preventive maintenance

Additional Skills: Professionalism in customer service, Handle inquiries from customers, Owner-operator business skills

Security and Safety: Criminal record check, Driving record check (abstract), Medical exam

Own Tools/Equipment: Steel-toed safety boots, Hard hat
