Shift work is involved. Salary: will be negotiated and depends on the skills and experience of the applicant. Education: The applicant should have some college or technical training. Experience: is an asset. Credentials required: The applicant should have Social Service Worker (SSW) Diploma, Community Support Worker (CSW) Diploma. Work Setting: Women’s shelter Target Groups or Clients: Female, Children Type of Community or Social Service: Socio-economic needs or conditions (housing, nutrition, unemployment, financial assistance) Specific Skills: Obtain information and prepare reports or case histories, Provide suicide and crisis intervention, Resolve conflict situations, Liaise with other social services agencies and health care providers involved with clients Additional Skills: Administrative and office activities Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Work under pressure Transportation/Travel Information: Own transportation Work Location Information: Rural community Ability to Supervise: 11-15 people Security and Safety: Criminal record check, Child abuse registry check, Child welfare check, Driver’s validity licence check, Medical exam Essential Skills: Reading text, Writing, Oral communication, Working with others, Problem solving, Decision making, Critical thinking, Job task planning and organizing, Finding information, Computer use, Continuous learning Other Information: The Relief Position has some scheduled shifts,fill in for holidays, vacation etc. Residential Support Workers assist women and children through crisis situations within a residential setting. Languages: Other than English, the applicant should speak French, read French, write French.
