Terms: This is a permanent, full time job

Salary: will be $16.00 to $18.00 per hour for a 40 hour week.

Experience: two to three years’ experience.

Credentials required: The applicant should have Driver’s Licence (Class 1 or A), Air Brake (Z) Endorsement, Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) Certificate, Commercial Vehicle Operator’s Registration (CVOR) Certificate.

Type of Trucking and Equipment: Straight truck (4,600kg+ or 10,000lbs+ with 3+ axles), Tractor-trailer, Tractor-trailer A train, Flatbed, Dump

Type of Travel: Local, Regional

Documentation Knowledge: Driver logbook, Bill of lading, Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip), Trip reports, Accident or incident reports

Communication Equipment Experience: Citizens band (CB) radio, Cellular phone

Weight Handling: Up to 45 kg (100 lbs)

Specific Skills: Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo, Plan travel schedules and routes, Receive and relay information to central dispatcher, Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment, Monitor vehicle performance and mechanical fitness

Additional Skills: Professionalism in customer service

Security and Safety: Bondable, Driving record check (abstract)

Own Tools/Equipment: Steel-toed safety boots

Transportation/Travel Information: Own transportation, Own vehicle, Valid driver’s licence
