Terms: This is a permanent, full time job, which requires working days.

Salary: will be negotiated and depends on the skills and experience of the applicant.

Education: The applicant should have completed college or technical training.

Experience: at least three years’ experience.

Specific Skills: Heat, anneal, temper or form float glass or glass products, Coat glass with silver or other metals and materials, Ensure correct operation of machines and verify specified processing conditions and make adjustments, Operate process control machinery to cut glass or assemble glass window units, Set up or adjust automatic glass feeding, flowing and forming machines, Spray or swab moulds with oil solutions to prevent adhesion of glass, Weigh, measure and check production samples to assess conformance to specifications, Set up and adjust glass and glass product finishing machines, Visually inspect products for quality, Place sheet of glass on padded table or in jig and measure and mark glass, Place pattern on or under glass for cutting, Examine and mark defective glass to obtain the best cut, Cut glass along marked outlines or around pattern using hand tools, Smooth rough edges using belt sander or smoothing wheels

Additional Skills: Maintain shift log of production and other data, Record manufacturing information such as quantity, size and type of goods produced

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Repetitive tasks, Handling heavy loads, Physically demanding, Manual dexterity, Attention to detail, Hand-eye co-ordination, Combination of sitting, standing, walking, Standing for extended periods, Bending, crouching, kneeling

Own Tools/Equipment: Steel-toed safety boots
