Terms: This is a permanent, full time job, which requires working nights and weekends. Shift work is involved.

Salary: will be negotiated and depends on the skills and experience of the applicant.

Education: The applicant should have completed college or technical training.

Experience: two to three years’ experience.

Credentials required: The applicant should have Child and Youth Care Worker (CCW/CYW) Diploma, Social Service Worker (SSW) Diploma, Community Support Worker (CSW) Diploma, Non-violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) Certificate, First Aid Certificate.

Work Setting: Group home, Social service agency

Target Groups or Clients: Female, Persons with intellectual disabilities, Persons with physical disabilities, Persons with learning disabilities

Specific Skills: Supervise activities of clients living in group homes and half-way houses, Provide personal services support to persons with special needs, Maintain program statistics for purposes of evaluation and research, Assist in evaluating the effectiveness of treatment programs

Additional Skills: Administrative and office activities, Housekeeping activities, Food preparation

Security and Safety: Criminal record check, Driver’s validity licence check, Medical exam

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Work under pressure, Physically demanding

Transportation/Travel Information: Own transportation, Valid driver’s licence, Public transportation is not available

Work Location Information: Work in employer’s/client’s home, Rural community
