Terms: This is a permanent, part time job, which requires working days, evenings, nights, and weekends.

Salary: will be negotiated and depends on the skills and experience of the applicant.

Education: The applicant should have completed high school, some college or technical training, some university.

Experience: Canadian Deafblind Association Ontario Chapter will provide training..

Credentials required: The applicant should have Child and Youth Care Worker (CCW/CYW) Diploma, Social Service Worker (SSW) Diploma, Community Support Worker (CSW) Diploma, Human Services Diploma, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certificate, First Aid Certificate.

Work Setting: Community or neighbourhood centre, Private home

Target Groups or Clients: Persons who are deaf/hard of hearing, Persons who are blind/visually impaired

Type of Community or Social Service: Education or training

Specific Skills: Assess client’s relevant skill strengths and development needs, Provide personal services support to persons with special needs

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Work under pressure

Transportation/Travel Information: Own vehicle, Valid driver’s licence, Travel expenses paid by employer

Work Location Information: Work in employer’s/client’s home, Various locations

Security and Safety: Criminal record check

Essential Skills: Reading text, Document use, Writing, Oral communication, Working with others, Problem solving, Decision making, Critical thinking, Continuous learning
