Terms: This is a permanent, full time job Shift work is involved.

Salary: will be $10.25 per hour for a 40 hour week.

Education: The applicant should have completed high school, some college or technical training.

Experience: is an asset.

Credentials required: The applicant should have First Aid Certificate, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certificate.

Children’s Ages: Kindergarten age (4 - 5 years), School age (6 - 12 years)

Work Setting: Employer’s home

Specific Skills: Supervise and care for children, Bathe, dress and feed infants and children, Help children with homework, Organize, activities such as games and outings for children, Instruct children in personal hygiene and social development, Read to children, Prepare and serve nutritious meals, Shop for food and household supplies, Wash, iron and press clothing and household linens, Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties, Assume full responsibility for household in absence of parents, Travel with family on trips and assist with child supervision and housekeeping duties, Maintain a safe and healthy environment in the home, Tend to emotional well-being of children, Discipline children according to the methods requested by the parents, Take children to and from school and to appointments, Keep records of daily activities and health information regarding children

Transportation/Travel Information: Vehicle supplied by employer

Work Location Information: Work in employer’s/client’s home, Room and board provided
