Terms: This is a temporary, part time job, which requires working evenings and weekends.

Salary: will be $13.00 to $15.00 per hour for a 20 hour week.

Education: The applicant should have completed high school, some college or technical training, completed college or technical training.

Experience: at least a full year’s experience.

Credentials required: The applicant should have Child and Youth Care Worker (CCW/CYW) Diploma, Social Service Worker (SSW) Diploma, Human Services Diploma.

Work Setting: Private home

Target Groups or Clients: Male, Female, Children, Persons with physical disabilities, Persons with learning disabilities

Type of Community or Social Service: Child welfare

Specific Skills: Implement behaviour management programs, Provide personal services support to persons with special needs

Additional Skills: Housekeeping activities, Food preparation

Security and Safety: Criminal record check, Child abuse registry check, Child welfare check, Driver’s validity licence check, Medical exam

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Work under pressure

Transportation/Travel Information: Own transportation, Willing to travel regularly, Public transportation is not available

Work Location Information: Work in employer’s/client’s home, Rural community

Ability to Supervise: 1 to 2 people

Essential Skills: Reading text, Document use, Writing, Oral communication, Working with others, Problem solving, Decision making, Critical thinking, Job task planning and organizing

Other Information: Evening and weekend shifts. Ideal candidate have experience working with youth in a home Lifeskills, homework and support with chores needed. Some light housekeeping required.
