Terms: This is a permanent, full time job, which requires working days and evenings.

Salary: will be negotiated and depends on the skills and experience of the applicant.

Education: The applicant should have completed high school.

Experience: at least three years’ experience.

Credentials required: The applicant should have Driver’s Licence (Class 1 or A), Air Brake (Z) Endorsement, Commercial Vehicle Operator’s Registration (CVOR) Certificate.

Type of Trucking and Equipment: Tractor-trailer, Van

Type of Travel: Short-haul

Documentation Knowledge: Driver logbook, Bill of lading, Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip), Trans-border documentation, Maintenance and repair reports, Accident or incident reports

Communication Equipment Experience: Cellular phone, Satellite tracking (GPS) equipment

Weight Handling: More than 45 kg (100 lbs)

Specific Skills: Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials, Plan travel schedules and routes, Use atlases and other trip planning aids, Receive and relay information to central dispatcher, Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment, Monitor vehicle performance and mechanical fitness

Additional Skills: Professionalism in customer service, Handle inquiries from customers

Security and Safety: Criminal record check, Driving record check (abstract), Drug test

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Physically demanding

Transportation/Travel Information: Willing to travel cross-border, Valid driver’s licence
