Terms: This is a permanent, part time job, which requires working weekends.

Salary: will be $10.25 per hour for a 16 hour week.

Education: The applicant should have completed high school, some college or technical training.

Experience: is an asset.

Credentials required: The applicant should have Animal health course, Veterinary assistant course.

Work Setting: Animal shelter

Type of Pets Groomed: All breeds of dogs, Cats

Pet Grooming Experience: Bathing/shampooing, Ear cleaning, Flea baths, Nail clipping, Teeth cleaning

Animal Care Experience: Domestic animals/pets (cats, kittens, puppies, dogs, etc.)

Specific Animal Care Skills: Prepare food and feed animals, Clean and disinfect cages, pens, aquariums, kennels, runs, stall and enclosures, Assist with inoculation and treatment of animals, Monitor and document animal behaviour

Dog Training Expertise: Basic obedience

Weight Handling: Up to 26 kg (50 lbs)

Additional Skills: Maintain inventory and order supplies, Keep records of animals treated, Supervise helpers

Transportation/Travel Information: Own transportation, Valid driver’s licence

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Attention to detail, Physically demanding

Security and Safety: Bondable

Own Tools/Equipment: Computer
