Terms: This is a permanent, full time job

Salary: will be negotiated and depends on the skills and experience of the applicant.

Experience: two to three years’ experience.

Credentials required: The applicant should have Driver’s Licence (Class 1 or A), Air Brake (Z) Endorsement.

Type of Trucking and Equipment: Tractor-trailer, Van, Refrigerated

Type of Travel: Long-haul, International

Documentation Knowledge: Driver logbook, Bill of lading, Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip), Trans-border documentation, Trip reports

Communication Equipment Experience: Satellite tracking (GPS) equipment

Weight Handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs)

Specific Skills: Plan travel schedules and routes, Use atlases and other trip planning aids, Receive and relay information to central dispatcher, Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment

Additional Skills: Mountain driving expertise, Professionalism in customer service

Security and Safety: Criminal record check, Driving record check (abstract), Drug test

Own Tools/Equipment: Steel-toed safety boots

Transportation/Travel Information: Willing to travel cross-border, Willing to travel for extended periods, Willing to travel overnight, Valid driver’s licence

Essential Skills: Reading text, Document use, Numeracy, Writing, Oral communication, Working with others, Problem solving, Decision making, Critical thinking, Job task planning and organizing, Finding information
